The Workshops focus on using usually discarded materials to create lively and imaginative puppets.
The session last for approximately 2 hours. Beginning with a talk and demonstration on the making of a glove puppet. Although Ken arrives with most of the materials needed for the session, a list of things to bring along will have been sent a few weeks before the workshop. The aim being to encourage children (and adults) to look at everyday things that would normally be thrown away, and see how they could be used in making a puppet.
“One of the few times I have seen every child in the class, Year 6, working on a task and for every second of the morning. The children used skills I never knew they had, and they did not know they had either”
Liz Hills, Head teacher, Ilderton School, London
